Mister Sun

Oh Mister Sun, Sun,
Mister Golden Sun,
Please shine down on me!

Oh Mister Sun, Sun,
Mister Golden Sun,
Hiding behind a tree...

These little children
Are asking you
Won't you come out
So we can play with you?

Oh Mister Sun, Sun,
Mister Golden Sun,
Please shine down on me!

Bright Yellow Sun

(to the tune of: "Row, Row, Row Your Boat")

Bright sun shining down,
Shining on the ground.
What a lovely face you have,
Yellow, big and round.

The Yellow Basket

A tisket, a tasket,
I found a yellow basket.
Filled it up with yellow things
And ‘round the room I passed it.

(bring in a basket and have each child take a turn finding yellow objects around the room and placing them in the basket while the rest of the children sing the song; this can be done with any color)

Five Yellow Polka Dots

Five yellow polka dots lay on the floor,
One sat up and then there were four.

Four yellow polka dots got on their knees,
One tipped over and then there were three.

Three yellow polka dots stood on one shoe,
One fell down and then there were two.

Two yellow polka dots started to run,
One stopped quickly and then there was one.

One yellow polka dot rolled toward the door,
When it disappeared there were no more.

Orange Poem

I took a blob of red paint,
then I took a blob of yellow.
I squished and swished them all around
As far as they would go.
My red and yellow began to change
And much to my surprise,
I saw the colors turn into orange
Right before my eyes!

Orange Is The Color

(to the tune of: "Yankee Doodle")

Orange is the color of
So many things we see,
Would you like to sing a little
Orange song with me?

Orange juice and orange cheese,
Orange carrots, if you please,
Orange pumpkins, orange leaves
Let's sing a song of orange!

Red Poem

Red is a stop sign,
Red is a rose.
Red is an apple
And a funny clown's nose!
